What is Custom Screen Printing?
Screen printing is the method of printing that transfers a stenciled design onto a flat surface using a mesh screen, ink, and a squeegee. Paper and fabric are common surfaces used for screen printing.
Custom screen printing is popularly used for printing custom t-shirts and apparel.
What’s the difference between screen printing and embroidery, and which is best for my project?
Screen printing is ideal for bold, colorful designs on t-shirts and large quantities. Embroidery offers a more premium, stitched look that’s perfect for polos, hats, and jackets. We’re happy to recommend the best option based on your design and budget.
What is Dye Sublimation?
Dye sublimation is a digital printing process that uses heat to transform ink into a gas, allowing it to permanently bond with polyester fabric. The process begins by printing your design onto special transfer paper using sublimation inks. When applied with a heat press, the ink turns into a gas and penetrates the fibers of the garment—becoming part of the material itself rather than sitting on top.
This unique process offers several advantages:
- The design becomes part of the fabric, so it won’t crack, peel, or fade over time.
- The finished print feels completely smooth, with no added texture.
- Colors appear vibrant, crisp, and highly detailed.
Dye Sublimation printing only works on polyester fabrics or items with a polyester coating (like mugs or metal sheets). It is not suitable for 100% cotton.
Dye sublimation is an ideal choice for creating long-lasting, high-quality apparel with a clean, professional look and feel.
Do you have minimum order quantities for custom apparel?
Minimums vary depending on the decoration method. Screen printing typically requires a minimum order, while embroidery is more flexible. Contact us with your project details and we’ll guide you.
Is screen printing or embroidery cheaper?
Generally, screen printing is less expensive than embroidery, especially in larger quantities. But this can vary from service to service, the design you want to print or embroider, and its size.
Can you help create or refine my logo or design?
Yes! Our design services can bring your idea to life or clean up existing artwork to ensure it looks great in production. We can recreate or vectorize your artwork and digitize it to ensure the best possible results.
We cannot guarantee all artwork is able to be recreated exactly. All artwork is approved by the customer before the order goes into production.
What file formats do you accept for artwork?
We prefer vector files like AI, EPS, or PDF, but we can work with most file types including JPG and PNG.
I don't have access to vector artwork, what do I do?
For most designs, our in-house artists can recreate your artwork. We cannot guarantee all artwork is able to be recreated exactly. Availability is based on capacity and must be approved by a Sales Associate or Account Manager.
How long does the production process typically take?
Turnaround times vary by process, order size, and complexity, but most jobs are completed within 1–2 weeks after artwork approval.
What happens after I place my order?
Each order is reviewed by at least two members of the NPACT Apparel production team to make sure your design is perfect and ready for print.
All art is thoroughly checked for aesthetics, printability, and errors. We will automatically adjust common issues like alignment, contrast, line thickness, and spelling errors.
For complex orders, we may send an additional email or text with picture proofs for your approval before we process your order.
How do you ensure my order is correct?
We provide an art proof and job approval form for every order. Once the details of your artwork and order are reviewed, each form will be sent to you for approval via email, text, or both. Orders without art and/or job approval do not enter the production process. Any delay in signing and returning the forms will result in a delay in order processing.
How is my price determined?
Your all-inclusive NPACT Apparel price is primarily determined by three things:
- The product you select.
- The total number of ink colors needed for printing.
- The total quantity of items in your order.
Other factors such as personalization (adding personalized names and/or numbers to your items) or special requests also affect the cost.
Savings tip: The easiest way to reduce the cost per item is to increase the quantity of your order. Consider ordering a few extras to maximize your savings. Reducing the number of ink colors in your design can also lead to significant savings. Our team of talented artists can make any design shine with only three, two, or even one ink color!
What types of apparel and brands do you offer?

How many colors can be used in a screen printed design?
We can print up to 8 colors, but pricing is typically based on the number of colors in your design. We’ll help you balance impact and cost.
Do you offer bulk pricing or discounts for large orders?
Yes! We offer competitive pricing with volume discounts. Especially with screen printing, the more you order, the more you save.
How will I recieve my completed order?
Once everything has been checked, packaged, and completed, your order is officially ready to go. Whether it’s being picked up or shipped out, this is where it all comes together for you. We can ship your items anywhere, or you can pick up at our location in Russell Springs, Kentucky.
